About this module

Financial literacy is life-navigation literacy, under another name.

Financial and life-navigation intelligence, understanding how money, systems, and real-world logistics actually work, deserves the same direct, unembarrassed teaching as any other literacy, yet it remains one of the most commonly skipped subjects in a student's development. This module equips a teacher moving into wider leadership to champion this literacy at the institutional level, so students leave with genuine agency over their own future navigation rather than a gap they're left to fill in alone.

What you'll explore

Three shifts this module is building toward.

  • Why financial and life-navigation literacy deserves the same direct teaching as any academic subject.
  • What genuine agency over one's own future actually requires, beyond basic financial facts.
  • A realistic way to champion this literacy at the institutional level, beyond a single elective course.

Three lanes of knowing

Understood, practiced, and explored.

Lane 1 · Science

Why this literacy is commonly skipped

What's understood about why financial and life-navigation literacy remains under-taught, and what that gap costs students later.

Lane 2 · Practice

An agency-building practice

A short, practical exercise identifying one real life-navigation skill currently missing from this school's curriculum.

Lane 3 · Meaning-making

What was I never taught about navigating my own life?

Reflection on a gap in this teacher's own financial or life-navigation education, and what it cost them to fill it later.

Outcome

"I can name a real institutional step toward teaching this literacy more directly."
