About this module

This is no longer only a job description; it's becoming a vocation.

At this final level, the question shifts from how to teach well to what this work means across an entire career, and purpose-led leadership asks a teacher to integrate vocation, meaning, and identity at that larger scale. This module opens Level 4 by helping a teacher articulate, clearly and personally, what they are actually leading for, so the influence they're about to carry across schools and systems stays rooted in something real.

What you'll explore

Five shifts this module is building toward.

  • The difference between leading from a job description and leading from a genuine sense of vocation.
  • How to articulate, in this teacher's own words, what they are actually leading for at this point in their career.
  • What stays constant about this teacher's purpose even as their role and influence continue to expand.
  • A realistic look at what purpose-led leadership will ask of this teacher that a classroom role didn't.
  • A first, personal statement of the vocation this teacher is stepping into.

Three lanes of knowing

Understood, practiced, and explored.

Lane 1 · Science

Vocation versus role

What's understood about how leaders operating from genuine vocation sustain influence and resilience differently than those operating from role alone.

Lane 2 · Practice

A purpose-articulation practice

A short, written practice articulating, in this teacher's own words, the vocation now underneath their expanding leadership.

Lane 3 · Meaning-making

What am I actually leading for?

Reflection on what has stayed constant in this teacher's sense of purpose since Module 1, and what has changed.

Outcome

"I can name the vocation underneath my leadership, in my own words."
