About this module

The dynamics between adults shape a school as much as the ones with students.

Stepping into school culture work means working with adults now, not only students, and adult relational dynamics, the same projection and triggered reactivity explored earlier in this pathway, operate just as powerfully in a staff room as they do in a classroom. This module brings relational leadership skill to that adult context directly, so a teacher moving toward culture design can navigate colleague dynamics with the same clarity they've already built for their own classroom.

What you'll explore

Five shifts this module is building toward.

  • How the same projection and reactivity dynamics from earlier modules show up among colleagues.
  • A few concrete relational leadership moves for working through adult disagreement without escalation.
  • What changes about a teacher's own presence once they're leading among peers rather than students.
  • How to build trust with colleagues who are skeptical of culture change.
  • A first, realistic read on this teacher's own relational leadership strengths and blind spots.

Three lanes of knowing

Understood, practiced, and explored.

Lane 1 · Science

Adult relational dynamics at work

What's understood about how projection, reactivity, and trust-building operate among adult colleagues, often more subtly than among students.

Lane 2 · Practice

A disagreement-navigation practice

A short, concrete practice for working through disagreement with a colleague without it escalating into lasting conflict.

Lane 3 · Meaning-making

How do I actually show up among peers?

Reflection on this teacher's own relational leadership tendencies when working with adults rather than students.

Outcome

"I can navigate adult disagreement at my school without it costing the relationship."
