About this module

Treating money, time, and attention as resources worth managing.

Money, time, and attention are the three resources a person actually spends every single day, often without tracking any of them closely, and the habits a teenager builds around all three tend to compound well into adulthood. This module treats the three together, as a single system of resource management, and gives a teen practical tools for noticing where each one actually goes. The aim is an honest, clear-eyed relationship with three resources that are genuinely finite.

What they'll explore

Five shifts this module is building toward.

  • Why money, time, and attention function as related resources, not three separate problems.
  • A simple way of tracking where one of these three resources actually goes for a short period.
  • The difference between how they assume they spend these resources and what a real accounting shows.
  • One specific, realistic adjustment to how they manage a resource that matters to them.
  • A realistic way of protecting one of these resources when something else is competing for it.

Three lanes of knowing

Understood, practiced, and explored.

Lane 1 · Science

Why these three resources are connected

What's understood about how money, time, and attention interact, and why managing one well tends to support the others.

Lane 2 · Practice

A one-week resource tracker

A short, practical exercise tracking where money, time, or attention actually goes over a real week.

Lane 3 · Meaning-making

Does this match what I actually value?

Reflection comparing where a resource actually went against what the teen would say matters most to them.

Outcome

"I have an honest picture of where my money, time, and attention actually go, and I can adjust it on purpose."
